This site is produced in WordPress, which offers a lot of convenience in updating and managing. Before I hit on wordpress I put together a site in pure html with css which is in fact still underneath this site. The content is just bla bla but the design took a lot of effort and almost works (the old psyplenum has been deleted).
I was fortunate to attend the Texas Leadership Event in Houston August 1st. Many interesting topics were presented. A common theme emerged about not just being alive but acting alive: Kieth Schrieter shared with us the point that every week we can either quit, stay the same, or advance. Not a new idea but an important one. One way to advance is to read – reading gives you new ideas and helps develop a conciousness about other points of view. The library is a good place to start but there is lots to read right on the internet. The gutenberg project has lots and lots of books in text and other formats. Books in text format are a bit tedious but a reader like dictator can make reading files a lot easier. Try it, after all quitting or staying the same is pretty boring.

Just a few of many new candles
Central Texas has been very warm, 105 at the market last Tuesday, Friday was somewhat better. Texans are able to take the heat but we are worried about our candles and soap. We are dropping weekly attendance at the Tuesday market but will still be there once a month. For now we are planning to continue on Fridays, wish us luck.
For some weeks we have been at the farmer’s market: Friday in New Braunfels and Tuesday in San Marcos, TX. 3pm-6pm so meet us here or meet us there.
To start this off I met with some folks from seed-swap for a plant trade in Buda. I passed out samples of Crave along with cards for obtaining more and feedback. If any of you seed-swapers got a sample I would appreciate feed-back here.
